FAQ

Super easy. Simply fill, insert the lid and drink. Suck/slurp the water through the filter to drink. Avoid squeezing the bottle excessively. The filter purifies the water as you drink. No pumping, iodine tablets or chemicals are required.

To activate the technology, you must wet the filter thoroughly. If you drink before the filter is fully moistened, unfiltered water could pass through the membrane. When using a new filter for the first time, we recommend filling the bottle, turning it upside down and soaking the filter for at least 15 minutes. You can find more information here.

If your filter dries out completely (usually if it hasn't been used for several weeks), simply reactivate it by submerging the filter for 15 minutes and your bottle will be ready to use again.

The active life of our filters depends on the amount of water that flows through the filter and not on the time it is used. The filters (Sugarcane and Active 0.75) are designed for 200 litres. Die Filter (Sugarcane und Active 0,75) sind für 200 Liter ausgelegt.

Without activation of the filter, in the original packaging, our filters have a "shelf life of three years". The nanotechnology in our filters is activated by contact with water, so it is important to store the filters in a dry place before use.

With water filter bottles, the flow rate is slower than with conventional water bottles. If you're not familiar with these systems, this may seem like a mistake. However, the slower flow rate simply means that the filter is doing its job by removing impurities as you draw the water through the filter.

If something is unsafe in your water, the Water-to-Go filter is likely to remove it. The filter removes up to 99.9999% of pathogens, including those as small as a virus. (Most filter bottles do not remove viruses such as hepatitis.) In laboratory tests, the filter has removed even the smallest viruses such as polio, which can be as small as 0.03 microns. The filter also removes bacteria, parasites (including Giardia), chemicals (including chlorine, fluoride, PFAS "forever chemicals"), pesticides and nitrates, heavy metals (lead, arsenic, chromium) and microplastics. The Water-to-Go filter has been tested and proven in four independent laboratory tests on four continents and by over 1 M customers worldwide over the last ten years.

No, only fresh water.

The Water-to-Go filters are 100% recyclable, so you can dispose of them in a sustainable way. You can send the filter housing and end caps for plastic recycling. The grey membrane can be disposed of on the compost heap and will biodegrade there.

Water-to-Go combines three different technologies in one filter to filter up to 99.9999% of all pollutants from the water. The filter medium used in this system was originally developed for the space programme and is characterised by the following features:

A) It has one of the smallest pore sizes ever developed for water filtration.

B) It integrates the traditional activated carbon particle technology, which serves to reduce bad taste and odour.

By using it inside the filter medium, it is much more effective as less adhesive is used. This results in a larger surface area and therefore a higher carbon efficiency.

C) The medium emits a positive hydrostatic charge when it comes into contact with water.

No other water filter technology combines these three technologies and achieves cost-effective results at the same time.

1) Water-to-Go uses mechanical filtration, where the pore size is very small so that the impurities cannot penetrate.

2) Electrically (through a positive charge), which reduces the pore size even further and attracts the contaminants like a magnet, trapping them inside the filter

filter3) Finally, our filters use activated carbon, but instead of sticking the activated carbon particles together with adhesives (which significantly reduces the efficiency of the activated carbon), it is contained within the membrane, which helps to reduce contaminants while eliminating bad tastes and odours.

Try filtering water from your household filter and taste the difference!

Yes; all product components (bottles, lids and filters) are BPA-free and all materials used are approved by the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) in the USA. Our key guiding principles (see Our Mission) are to protect people and the planet.

The 75cl Active bottles and the Sugarcane bottles are dishwasher-safe (only the bottle - the lid can only be cleaned by hand). In any case, you should remove the filter before cleaning. All older Water-to-Go models can be cleaned by hand.

The laboratory reports can be viewed on the website under "How it works". We have been tested on four continents by internationally renowned laboratories in London, Florida, Bangalore and China.

Yes, recent tests have shown that Waterto-Water-to-Go filters reduce chlorine levels in water to below the detection limit. Our filters use both aluminium oxide nanotechnology and carbon to filter out fluoride. You can see our test results and taste the difference when you drink from a Waterto-Go filter bottle.

One of the three technologies in our filter (the one that controls flavour and odour) is carbon. We put just enough carbon in the filters to run out at 200 litres (for the 75cl and Sugarcane filters). The filter is still filtering bacteria, cysts and harmful impurities; after this time, the water gradually starts to taste and smell like it did before the Water-to-Go bottle was used. Waterto--Go-Flasche.

The filter in the Water-to-Go bottle lasts for 200 litres in the 75cl Activ and 55cl Sugarcane water bottles.

This means that you can refill the 55cl water bottle 4 times a day and the filter will last for 3 months. If you use the 75cl water bottle 3 times a day, the filter will last for 3 months. If you stop using your Water-to-Go filter, it will dry out and need to be reactivated. Does is independent of time, so it can be used over a longer period of time.

To reactivate the filter, simply fill up the bottle, turn it upside down and immerse the filter for 15 minutes. Then carefully squeeze out the contents until the water runs clear. You can find a video about the activation process on our website under "How it works".

The bottles are very compact and not too bulky, so they should fit into standard rucksack side pockets and standard bicycle bottle cages. The 75cl bottles (black) are 22cm high and the circumference of the widest part of the bottle is about 27cm. The 50cl bottles (clear) are 20cm high and the circumference of the widest part of the bottle is approx. 25cm.

The 50cl bottle weighs 98g (empty with dry filter).

The 75cl bottle weighs 138g (empty with dry filter).

Although the filter can be used to filter urine in extreme emergencies, Water-to-Go strongly advises against this and accepts no responsibility for filtering and consuming urine.

The Water-to-Go filters are also designed to remove impurities from the water. The filters become ineffective if they are used with additives such as isotonic powders, drinks, juices, etc.

No, the filter will not work if it is frozen. If the filter does freeze, you must defrost it completely before using it again by filling the bottle with lukewarm water. You can still fill the bottle with snow, ice etc. and use it in cold climates. However, it is important to ensure that the filter does not freeze by keeping it in a bag, sleeping bag or close to your person.

The filter removes a wide range of contaminants. The combination of physical, chemical and electropositive filtration effectively removes various pollutants. The filter material consists of a nanofibre mesh with activated carbon, which has tiny pores. These pores are permeated by millions of tiny hairs. Each of these hairs has a positive charge. Most impurities are naturally negatively charged. Therefore, the impurities that are not blocked by the pores or absorbed by the activated carbon are attracted and held by the positive charge of the hairs. You can think of the filter as a favourite black shirt, while the impurities are like white socks or lint that stick to the shirt when it comes out of the dryer.

If you notice a leak, there are probably two possible reasons. The lid probably needs to be tightened a little more. Give it a gentle extra twist. Or the bottle is being squeezed excessively, forcing water through the vent valve in the lid. Gently pull on the mouthpiece to pull the water through the filter. Do not squeeze excessively.

In general, filter life is determined by usage, not time. So if your bottle sits on the shelf for several months and the filter dries out, simply fill the bottle to submerge the filter for 15 minutes. That's it. You're good to go.

When the filter reaches the end of its service life, the flow rate of the filter will slow down significantly. This is a signal from the filter that you should replace the filter soon. In addition, the flavour without the filter will slowly return.

The Water-to-Go Active, Classic and Go bottles are made of FDA-approved, BPA-free plastic.

The Water-to-Go Sugarcane bottles are made from ethically harvested sugar cane (BioPlastic) with the exception of the lid and filter cover. The sugar cane bottle is produced with 60% less energy and 40% less greenhouse gases than conventional plastic bottles.

All Water-to-Go bottles are fully recyclable. The filter itself is compostable.

Yes, all Water-to-Go bottles are equipped with a large filter in the lid. This can be screwed in and out for changing.

Water-to-Go bottles are designed to purify water while drinking. They are not designed to fill another container. You can easily take water from the bottle to brush your teeth, but filling a glass or pot can be done, but takes too long in the Peraxis and is therefore not recommended.

Water-to-Go is a British company founded in 2010 and has over 1 million satisfied customers worldwide. Our mission is to protect people and the planet by providing pure water everywhere, without single-use plastic. A better bottle for a better world. Over the past 15 years, Water-to-Go filters have replaced over 200 million single-use plastic bottles that would otherwise fill landfills, litter beaches and float in the ocean.

The Water-to-Go filters are 100% recyclable, so you can dispose of them sustainably. The housing and end caps can be disposed of in plastic recycling, and the grey membrane can end up on your compost heap and be biodegraded.

Yes, we can customise bottles with your logo. We have already done this for various large organisations and charities. This is possible from 300 bottles if the bottle is to be branded with company logo and colours. For more information, please contact us a kontakt@watertogo.net
